I’m Louise, the heart and hands behind Culu Design.

I’ve been making jewellery for over twenty years now, long before Culu had a name. What started as a creative outlet has always been my happy place, playing with colour, texture and form until something just clicks.

Culu Design officially came to life in 2020, at my kitchen table in Wicklow, during a time when creativity became my anchor. Surrounded by small mountains of polymer clay, and endless cups of tea, I began shaping what would become the foundation of my brand, bright, joyful, handcrafted statement jewellery designed to bring colour and confidence to everyday life.

Today, Culu has grown from those early kitchen table experiments into a dedicated studio practice, where every piece is designed, shaped, baked, sanded, and finished by hand. My workspace is a haven of pigments, silk screens, acrylic paints and pastels, a colourful retreat where I bring each idea to life.

I’m endlessly inspired by colour, by the Irish landscape that surrounds me, and by an out of control earring obsession! Each design carries a spark of joy and individuality, wearable art for those who love to stand out and express themselves.

The name Culu comes from the Irish word for retreat, reflecting what this work means to me: a creative refuge and a constant reminder of the power of craft and connection.

Now stocked by over thirty retailers across Ireland and beyond, Culu Design continues to grow, but every piece still begins where it always has, in my two hands, crafted with care, passion, and purpose.
